Third truck added to the stable.
I dont really now why I bought it except for I made out like a bandit. Tires and wheels are worth what I paid for it! :-)
1998 k3500 Crew cab, Long bed.
from Texas, not a lick of rust anywhere. This rig is going into the barn for winter and coming out to play in the Spring.
Fun facts of the day:
My other trucks are

All my friends think they’re ugly aftermarket mirrors, haha nope!
OEM and sweet as hell in my opinion!

I nearly bought a ‘96 with a 454 and a stick...I still kind of wish I did, but it needed more work than I was willing to do at the time. awesome truck though

The only thing that would make me love this truck more was if it was a stick. thanksfully the only problems are a small coolant leak from around the thermostat, and the Abs fuse is pulled so the light is on.

Congrats on the truck!
I’m thinking of buying a pickup soon, wanted to know if there’s anything I should know about owning a pickup. I’ve been DD-ing a ‘14 Sequoia that my parents own for nearly 2 years, so I’m used to the size. Just wanted to know about stuff like sandbags in bed for winter traction, water in bed during rain, etc.

I live in upstate NY, been driving a truck ever since I got my license. Harsh winters, I’ve never had to put sandbags in the back for traction, always been good with just the 4wd. However, If you want to be safe, sandbags in the back over the rear axle or behind it will never hurt.
Rain in the bed will happen only if the truck is left sitting during a shower. It will all drain out the back the second the truck moves. Most trucks have drainage holes in the bed, but sometimes they get plugged up.
Be prepared for not as great gas mileage as the sequoia, My ‘06 Sierra with the Vortec 5.3L averages around 15 around town and 20 on the highway. Not bad, but it adds up at the pump.
I love having a truck because they are the most useful vehicle you can buy. This is just a brief explainer of what you were wondering, any other questions feel free to ask!
